Northampton Youth Cycling Series 2011

Got a kid who likes to go fast? One who truly enjoys riding their bike?

Then get them over to Look Park on Monday nights for the Northampton Cycling Club’s Youth Cycling Series!

Kids aged 5-12 can race their bikes just like the grown-ups do. The club creates a race course on the lawn near the sprinkler park, with longer courses for older kids. Trike races  arranged for younger kids.

My kids did these races when they were younger. They really looked forward to them, especially when their friends showed up, or those times when they had grown into a larger sized bike and wanted to see just how fast they could go on that new machine.

The races are a lot of fun. Cheering and encouragement for all the kids, regardless of their speed. Even better is that they take place at Look Park. With all of the other fun

Another kind of alternative transportation.

activities the park offers, like the sprinkler park, climbing structures, and train rides (!), it’s a great place to take a picnic and spend the evening.  You could even ride your bike to the park along the bike path!

The Youth Cycling Series begins on Monday, June 20th at 6:30, and continues on June 27, July 11, 18, and 25. You can get more information on the series, and how to become a sponsor of the races at the NCC website.
