Spring is here and rail trail groups in Northampton and the rest of Western Massachusetts are busy planning events. Get them on your calendar so you don’t miss out.
Friends of Northampton Trails and Greenways has announced two important events. The first is a new date for that talk by Wayne Feiden on future plans for the rail trail network in the Northampton, MA area, now scheduled for Monday, April 25th at 7 pm at Northampton Friends Meetinghouse (43 Center Street). I wrote about Wayne’s talk previously and am glad to know the new date.
The second is the annual rail trail clean-up, taking place on Saturday, April 30th.
Our rail trails are beautiful and we have to work to keep them that way. The clean-up is a time to join your neighbors and renew this oasis which helps give Northampton vibrancy, community, peace, and makes it the envy of visitors.
May 16 – 20 is Bike Week, a week of cycling related events and activities, will take place in several communities sponsored by MassBike and its Pioneer Valley Chapter. The Bike Breakfast in downtown Northampton, serving breakfast to those who arrive on bike or on foot, takes place Wednesday, May 18.
Many opportunities to pitch in, get informed, and celebrate with your bike riding community.
